Artisan hand-pouring a small-batch candle in the Ketturam studio

Our story

Made with intention. Lit with care.

Every candle we make begins with a question: what does this moment deserve? The answer shapes everything — the wax, the wick, the scent, the vessel.

How it began

A studio born from stillness

Ketturam started in a small kitchen in 2018, when our founder began making candles as a way to slow down. What began as a personal ritual — pouring wax on Sunday mornings, testing scents against the light — quickly became something others wanted to bring into their own homes.

The name Ketturam comes from an old word for a fragrant offering. It felt right. Every candle we make is a small act of care — for the person who lights it, for the space it inhabits, and for the materials we've chosen to work with.

Today we operate out of a dedicated studio, still small-batch, still hand-poured. We've grown, but the Sunday-morning pace has never left us.

What we stand for

Craft without compromise

Small-batch always

We pour in limited runs so every candle receives full attention. No shortcuts, no automation — just hands, wax, and time.

Honest materials

We use 100% natural soy and beeswax, cotton wicks, and fragrance oils free from phthalates and synthetic dyes.

Responsible sourcing

Our wax is domestically grown. Our vessels are sourced from independent glassmakers. We choose suppliers we can visit.

Minimal footprint

Packaging is recycled or compostable. We offset shipping emissions and donate 1% of revenue to reforestation.

Materials

We know where everything comes from

Traceability isn't a marketing word for us — it's a practice. We can tell you the farm our soy wax came from, the glassblower who made our vessels, and the perfumer behind each fragrance. That transparency is the foundation of everything we make.

Process

Slow by design

Each candle is hand-poured in small batches, allowed to cure for a minimum of 48 hours, and inspected before it leaves the studio. We trim every wick by hand. We test every scent throw across seasons. It takes longer. It's worth it.
